WS_FTP LE Configuration

WS_FTP LE is a free GUI based FTP SSL client. The client can be downloaded from here, but it does require a registration code.

Open WS_FTP LE and click the dropdown arrow on the Connect button in the upper left corner

On the Site Manager popup click the Create Site button

The Site Manager Connection Wizard will now start. Enter a site name into the Site Name field and click Next when finished. This should be something that will be easy to identify, such as SBCounty FTP or ftp.sbcount.gov.

From the Connection Type dropdown select FTP/Implicit SSL and click Next when finished

Enter the FTP environment server address ftp.sbcounty.gov into the Server Address field and click Next

Enter your username and password into the User Name and Password fields. Click Next when finished

Make sure Connect to this site is check to test the connection and click Finish

FileZilla Configuration

FileZilla is a free GUI based FTP SSH client. The client can be downloaded from here.

Open FileZilla a click the Site Manager button in the upper left hand corner

On the Site Manager popup, click the New Site button

On the left hand side, under My Site, enter a name for the ftp connection. This should be something that will be easy to identify, such as SBCounty FTP or ftp.sbcount.gov.
On the right hand side, under the General tab, enter ftp.sbcounty.gov for the Host and select SFTP - SSH File Transfer Protocol as the Protocol. On the Logon Type dropdown select Ask for password and enter your username into the User field.

Select the Transfer Settings tab and under Transfer mode select Passive. Click OK when finished.

Click the Site Manager button in the upper left hand corner and your new FTP connection should be listed. Click the connection to test.

The Enter password popup should now appear so you can enter your password to complete the connection. Click OK when finished.
